“Coffee and Bar” Weekend in the Budapest party-district

The work of baristas and bartenders can provide at least as much excitement and creativity as that of chefs. It is becoming more and more popular to be creative behind the bar in Hungary too. Spectacular development is taking place not only in the kitchens of restaurants. We now have bars and cafés recognised at international level as well. Not to mention professional Hungarian baristas and bartenders who have won world champion titles and achieved fame.

Enchanting Coffee and Cocktail Competitions

The best of the coffee and beverages profession will be at the CoffeeBar weekend. Five national competitions will be held over the two days. Baristas will compete in the Coffee in Good Spirits competition on Saturday, and in the Latte Art competition on both days. The winners will represent Hungary at the world championship in Budapest in the summer.

The Hungarian Cocktail and Flair Championship will also be held on Sunday; the winners of the classical and the flair categories will be heading to the 2016 World Championship in Coppenhagen.

Apart from the barista and bartender competitions, the Hungarian Sommelier Championship will be organised as a two-day event in the hip TESLA Budapest event center 19 February.

In addition to unlimited coffee tastings, winemakers will be holding tastings over the two days; the price of the admission ticket includes more than 10 wines as well as the tastings of pálinkas and spirits. While sipping your drinks you can enjoy the delicacies offered on the stands of numerous exhibitors. They will be waiting for you at this fantastic drinks weekend in the party district.
