Gary Lukatch is the internationally-unknown ? author of several books dealing with his life and travels. After an undistinguished university career, and a stint in the US Army and 19 years in the financial business in the USA in 1999 he finally quit his job and moved to Hungary, where he taught English to the people of Budapest. He has been inside an Egyptian pyramid in Giza, taunted the snake charmers in Marrakech and crewed an America’s Cup racing yacht and so much more! These days he can often be found at one of several local watering holes in Budapest, Hungary, quaffing beer and singing karaoke.
Expat Press Magazine has set the goal of becoming a useful guide for foreigners living in Budapest and Hungary. The authors and editors of the magazine include a number of expatriates who, having lived in Budapest for many years, can shed light on life in Hungary from their unique perspectives, while born and bred Budapesters can give you insider tips.
My name is Alexander Stemp, I am originally from York/ England. I was a landscape gardener in Cambridge before moving to Budapest. As I now live with Eszter my wife and 3 young children. Due to much time spent here as well as much knowledge of the local scene now accumulated, I sensed I have bypassed the main tourist scene and live the intermete life of a local person, and write magazine articles based on light cultural topics within this region.
