As the MGM film from 1938, Beautiful Budapest, which we shared with you a couple of weeks back, became such a huge success, we’re now following up again with a collection of videos of Budapest we’ve found from 1978, 1988, 1998 and 2008 including a great film of the Budapest Red Bull Air Race!

The view from the statue of Imre Nagy, near to the Hungarian Parliament in 1998. “The man is Imre Nagy, the reformist Prime Minister who led Hungary during the failed uprising against the Soviets in 1956. The statue, the tour guide says, symbolizes Nagy taking the nation half-way to freedom.”-says Richard Wexler who made the video as a memory of visiting Budapest.
Better than Top Gun! Budapest was the setting for the sixth leg of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2008, returned to the Hungarian capital for the fifth time. This made Budapest the home of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.
