Six young directors were nominated by a professional jury to represent Hungary in the New Directors’ Showcase programme. The Hungarian filmmakers’ showreel was screened by Saatchi and Saatchi on Friday evening at the award ceremony of Hipnózis, one of the most prestigious advertising competitions in Hungary.
The selected Hungarian directors will now appear in front of the international jury of the Saatchi & Saatchi Creative Board, from where the most talented young directors in the world will be introduced at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity at the end of June. The competition announced for the first time in Hungary provides a great opportunity for young directors, since filmmakers like Traktor, Michel Gondry and Gore Verbinski have also debuted in the programme in the last 25 years.
The Hungarian New Directors’ Showcase presented the following young directors:
