Healthy dining has become extremely popular in recent years and, as a result, Vegan and Vegan-friendly restaurants have been popping up all over the city.
There are way too many to list here, probably at least 100 such places, so check the Internet for others besides those listed below. This is just a small sampling of some of our favorites.

Serves meat, vegan options available. Local home delivery pizzeria. Serving vegetarian and full vegan pizzas also. Special vegan quattro formaggi and veggie sausage versions are a customer favorite.
Bio Café

Cafe offering an array of organic vegetarian and vegan food, including as salads, sandwiches, bakery goods and cakes. Also available are pizzas, a great juice bar and a take-out bakery.
Bollywood Vegi Bar
Akácfa Utca 50.
North Indian Punjabi style vegetarian buffet and fast food for take away, opened Oct 2012. Lacto, fast food, beer/wine and take out available.
Cigköftem
Teréz krt. 20.
Vegan-friendly juice bar, also offers Turkish vegetable paté made of grains, walnuts, tomato puree, sunflower oil, parsley and green onions that shape into little balls or fingers, served in wraps or with mixed plates.
Édeni Vegan

Éden Vegetáriánus Étterem is a cafeteria-style restaurant/juice bar that offers a changing vegan menu. As of July 2016, apparently no longer using honey, but does have fresh juices. At corner of Gyorskocsi utca, 1 block from Batthány tér bus and metro station.
The Goat Herder
István utca 5.
Espresso bar and cafe serving light food including soups, wraps, bircher muesli, salads. Vegans can get salad and hummus dippers, also has lacto and ovo, plus take out.
Govinda
Vigyázó Ferenc ut 4, V. ker. (at near Széchenyi Tér).
The deli-style Indian buffet and salad bar includes a variety of dishes with two main entrees each day. Lacto, Hare Krishna also on offer.
Govinda Veggie Corner

A Hare Krishna vegetarian food restaurant and take-away. Deli style buffet and salad bar includes a variety of dishes though most items contain dairy.
Great Bistro

Little vegan bistro providing breakfast and changing lunch menu. Offers fruit juices, sugar-free lemonade, coffee with rice or soya milk, smoothies. Organic and western juice bar also available.
Himalaya/Maharaja
Csengery u 24.
Serves meat, vegan options available. Nepali food menu, includes vegetarian dishes. Atmosphere is relaxed, colorful.
Indigo

Very popular, stylish Indian restaurant with a vegetarian section on the menu that includes many paneer dishes (dairy). Serves meat, vegan options available
Inez Bagel Shop

Primarily vegetarian and vegan café, also offers bagels and sandwiches, salad, quiche, smoothies and juices. Serves meat, vegan options available. Lacto, ovo and western juice bar.
Istvánffi Veggie Burger

A little vegan burger bar offering a variety of burger flavors plus has fries, salad, dessert, and sides. Re-opened at this location after move from Városmajor 13.

Vegan restaurant offering an a la carte menu plus a weekly special, made using mostly seasonal ingredients.

This coffee shop sells a range of packaged raw cookies and cakes, vegan bars, raw packed superfoods and organic coffee. Offers a limited meal selection, mainly breakfast ciabatta and piadina.
Mennyország Szíve

A small Chinese vegan place with fast food options and daily menus of international cuisine. Many types of icy refreshers in the summer and warm teas in cold weather. Its bio shop also sells organic, vegan, gluten-free products.

Napfényes Étterem és Cukrászda offers an extensive menu, with a variety of dishes along with Hungarian specialties. Very good restaurant for non-vegans too and perfect for vegans. Kind people, tasty food in a beautiful place. Friendly service, tasty healthy food. One of the best places for vegan food in Budapest!

Asian fast food restaurant serving simple vegan food along with Taiwanese bubble tea and smoothies. The only non-vegan ingredients are in the drinks.
